Parents Speak Up
Parents play a key role in educating minors about alcohol. For this reason, Cerveceros de España, supported by Ministry for Agriculture, Fishing and Food (MAPA), and in collaboration with the Spanish Confederation of Parent Associations (Confederación Española de Asociaciones de Madres y Padres de Alumnos - CEAPA) and the Spanish Catholic Confederation of Family and Parent Associations (Confederación Católica Nacional de Padres de Familia y Padres de Alumnos -CONCAPA), has set up the initiative ‘Los padres tienen la palabra’ (Parents Speak Up), aimed at raising awareness among parents of the importance of getting involved in a key aspect of their children’s lives: taking responsible decisions about alcohol. The campaign is focused on parents of children between the ages of 6 and 13, a stage when parents are clear role models for children.
Information Guide Parents Speak Up, distributed in schools through Parent Teacher Associations (AMPAs), provides guidelines on how to talk about alcohol to kids at the difficult pre-adolescent stage.
